All about Influenster

You may have seen Influenster VoxBoxes floating around Instagram/Twitter and are wondering how you can too receive products to review.. Well I’m here to let you know! After writing about my first VoxBox from Influenster a few of you reached out to me asking what the platform is and what exactly you get from it. I thought it would be a good idea to write it all down in a post for you! I honestly had no idea what it was until I signed up so I hope this will be helpful for you.

First off Influenster is 100% free to sign up so there’s no hidden charges that you need to worry about. They won’t ask for your credit card details at all. The only piece of personal information they will ask of you is your address so they can send you the products to review!

Okay, so what exactly is Influenster?

Influenster is a FREE program where you take tiny surveys and obtain badges on their website in order to qualify to receive a free box of samples, most of the products are full size to try out. Review on Influenster, share with your friends or subscribers and you can also qualify for even more freebies and special deals from the brands that work with Influenster.

After signing up and downloading the app you will have to fill out your Influenster profile, try and provide as much detail as possible because the more they know about you the easier it will be for them to match you to their campaigns.

You will also need to link ALL your social media accounts and these will add to your impact score. Your impact score will determine the amount of impact you will have on people when you review products. The more friends/followers you have on social media the higher your impact score will be. You honestly don’t need to have a high impact score to receive products but you are more likely to receive a VoxBox if you have a higher score. You can also invite friends for more points.

Here’s my tips for receiving a VoxBox..

FOLLOW INFLUENSTER ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Following Influenster on all of their social media platforms will help keep you updated on all of the VoxBoxes they are giving out.

They also hold Twitter parties for people who are involved and there’s a chance at winning prizes. I mean who doesn’t love winning stuff?! It’s not necessary to follow them on everything but it will give you a better chance at getting a VoxBox.

COMPLETE SNAPS: Snaps are questions Influenster asks you about your experience with different products. It’ll ask you things like; “Which of the following lip gloss brands have you used?”

If they are asking you a new question, it’s usually because they need the answer for something they are working on so if you don’t complete your snaps they won’t know what suits you and you will be a less likely to be chosen for a chance at a VoxBox so be sure to answer your snaps.

ANSWER/ASK QUESTIONS: On Influenster there is an option to ask a question on every product listed (you can even add new products if you can’t find the one you’re looking for) Influenster are more likely to see you if you are asking questions and rate you as a top Influenster!

If I’m bored I will often go on to my app and see if there’s any questions I can answer or even just ask a random one like “What’s everyone’s star sign?” It doesn’t always have to be about the products.

REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW: I’m going to put my hands up and say I really need to review more products haha but when I have written a review in the past I have explained about the product thoroughly. You can write reviews on basically anything you have previously tried like shampoo, foundation, chocolate, so ANYTHING. Influenster have a feature where you can just scan the barcode on the product you want to review so it’s super easy!

I have seen reviews that are just a couple of sentences and don’t explain much about the product which I don’t recommended. Influenster will notice this so try and write reviews that explain a lot about the product. When writing your review Influenster will give you some points to write about which is a great feature.

INCREASE FOLLOWERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: The main way to increase your impact score is to gain followers on your social media accounts. Stay engaged with your audience and be active. Influenster will see your growth. Although as I said before you don’t need a massive following to be in with a chance of getting a VoxBox but it does help.

EARN BADGES: Earning badges is one of the best ways to start because it shows Influenster what you are interested in. In the app you will be able to see your badges just underneath your name and to the right. To unlock badges you need to earn 100 points.. You can do this by writing reviews which will earn you 5 points and answering questions which will also give you 5 points. You can also gain campaign badges from your VoxBoxes.

COMPLETE THE TASKS: If you are lucky enough to receive a VoxBox and check it in via the app (You will receive an email from Influenster which will tell you what to do when you receive your box). Influenster will then ask you to complete tasks in order to get badges although they are not required to be done but I would recommend you doing them as it would show Influenster that you are dedicated and then they are more likely to pick you for another box.

The tasks for example would be to post a picture of the products on Instagram (remember to tag Influenster and the brand) or tweet about how you are finding the products etc. Sometimes but not always there are bonus tasks that you aren’t required to do but are still asked. I always try to complete the bonus tasks just because it makes you look like a better Influenster. ALSO, if you do the bonus tasks on the product badges themselves you can win even more products from that brand!

PARTICIPATE IN VIRTUAL BOXES: These are campaigns where you don’t receive a VoxBox  *sad face* BUT instead you have tasks that require you to do things such as take pictures, review a product, record a video etc. After you upload the task you have done you could be in with a chance of winning prizes which is always nice.  

DO THE MANDATORY POST SURVEY: Once the campaign has finished you will receive an email with a survey which is mandatory to fill in. it will just ask you about the products you received in your Voxbox and how you found them. It will literally take you 5-10 minutes so not long at all. Make sure to complete this so you can be in with a chance to receive more boxes.

BE PATIENT: Influenster releases VoxBoxes throughout the month so just make sure to stay active for a chance to receive one. I know waiting sucks but Influenster VoxBoxes are given for free so it’s kind of a bonus if they send you one.

I know when I see people getting VoxBoxes who have around the same amount of followers as me I’m like well why didn’t I get one? but I obviously wasn’t selected for a reason and I’m okay with that.

My best advice though is just try to be as active as possible on Influenster. To be honest I have been slacking on this lately but if you have just a few minutes go on and just answer a few questions from other people it will definitely help.
