When everyone started taking about setting sprays I never really got the hype, I did like the thought of my makeup staying on longer but I wasn’t too bothered about buying one and I was convinced I wouldn’t add one into my beauty routine. I just thought they were kind of pointless and I didn’t see what difference it would make to my beauty routine but I was wrong.
This has been the makeup setting spray that I’ve been hearing so much about, literally every blogger or friend I’ve asked has said how good this setting spray is and I caved. After all the hype I decided now is the time to invest. I say invest like it’s a lot of money. I was on my flight to Rhodes not too long ago and was looking through the duty free magazine as you do and I just stumbled across the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and couldn’t not purchase it as well as some perfume which I’ve wanted for ages, it was La Vie Est Belle if you were wondering.
First let’s talk about the packaging, it’s just perfect. I love the black and purple together, it’s just a combination that works. I remember seeing the one before this as the white and purple and really not liking the packaging as I would expect it to get dirty but this one would definitely make me pick it up if I saw it in a shop as it catches the eye.
I probably purchased the setting spray at the perfect time as Rhodes was very humid. On holiday I rarely wear a lot of makeup in the day time as I don’t really see the point so I mainly used the setting spray at night.
Urban Decay claim the setting spray has temperature control technology so it basically lowers the temperature of your makeup to stop it from melting away, even on hot humid days so I could have tested it a lot more if I wore it in the day as the weather was getting up to 30ish degrees in the day but now I’m back home I have been using this daily.
The first few days using this I was a little sceptical, I didn’t know if it was making a difference but after using it a for a while longer I was now convinced. Urban Decay claim it will keep your makeup looking gorgeous for up to 16 hours without melting, fading or settling into fine lines. The setting spray honestly made my makeup look as fresh as it did when I put it on in the morning. The overall look to my makeup was just more smoother and I’m really not sure how I lived without this before.
The foundation that I use is quite a full coverage one and it does often go patchy during the day but after putting this on after even though my foundation still came off a little I was super impressed that my makeup still looked good. It didn’t feel cakey and heavy like it normally does. Oh, and right after spritzing this product all over my face, I immediately felt the cooking effect of the spray. I’m not being dramatic but this setting spray has changed my life.
The one thing I didn’t expect though was the smell, it’s not the nicest but the product definitely makes up for it. I honestly think this setting spray is my new favourite product as it’s super quick and easy to use also I love the fact you can’t feel it on the face. It’s just so perfect for when you need your makeup to stay on all day. I wasn’t expecting to love this as much as I do and it’s definitely changed my mind as I now use it in my beauty routine daily. I loved this post. I have a Mac prep and prime setting spray. Works wonders….but it looks like this setting spray is good too.

I’ve never tried a setting spray before because, like you, I was sceptical. Maybe I will try it after reading this post! Especially as the British weather is getting so hot right now!!

The first setting spray I ever tried was a Maybelline one and it left big spots of product all over my face so it put me off trying anymore but I did get the Urban Decay one last year and I love it! I mainly use it for nights out but it definitely works wonders, I come home looking exactly the same as when I went out most times which is always a positive!

This is the setting spray I bought for my wedding. I only use it on special occasions as it’s a little costly for everyday but it’s so amazing!
This is my favourite setting spray. I use it everyday and I can always tell if I’ve missed this step. I love the updated packaging too.

After having seen your post about this, I decided to get it too. Like you I have never really seen the hype around them. Having tried many drugstore ones before and found they have never really made much of a difference. BUT, I love this one! It really is SO incredible!!
