In October 2018 I wrote a post called “Pixi Beauty.. Worth the hype?”. To save you scrolling & just in case you didn’t read it when I published it last year I can well and truly say Pixi is well worth the hype.
Pixi Beauty recently released a new glow collection which is inspired by thier award winning glow tonic. The new collection has well & truly given my skin that ultimate glow for summer.
If I miss or skip the glow tonic in my skincare routine I immediately notice a difference so I was very excited to hear about the new collection and was very lucky to have received it from Pixi to try out. I thought I’d share my thoughts on the collection with you!
Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel.
Having oily/combination skin I always struggle to find a good cleanser that’s not going to be too heavy thankfully the cleansing gel from Pixi is very light and goes onto the skin really well. It contains glycolic acid to help gently exfoliate the skin and it also helps to brighten as well.
The consistency of the gel is quite runny compared to other cleansing gels I’ve used but it doesn’t really bother me but it does come out quick so be careful you don’t squeeze out too much. The scent wasn’t too overpowering just right and fresh and feels lovely when applied. The gel doesn’t foam or lather up which I was surprised about but it did feel really nice on my skin and not too harsh.
I don’t use this everyday on my skin as I don’t want to dry my skin out by using it too often but using it 2/3 times a week it defneitly helps keep my skin cleansed and moisturised.
Glow Tonic.
The glow tonic has got to be one of my all time favourite skincare products and doesn’t really need an introduction. It’s probably one of Pixi’s most famous products and one which I have loved for a good while now.
Even though I do have sensitive skin it really does work wonders and I don’t know how I lived without it for so long. The tonic helps exfoliate and purify the skin, also removes dead skin cells.
I just pop some of this on a small cotton pad and gently apply it around my face and down my neck, I do find it stings in some areas where I have dry skin but it does contain acid so it doesn’t surprise me. It also contains Aloe Vera which helps soothes.
I love the way to leaves my skin feeling and I just wouldn’t be without this in my skincare routine anymore.
Glow Tonic Serum.
After using the cleansing gel and glow tonic the next product I usually use is the glow tonic serum which has definitely become one of my favourite products from the collection.
I have to be honest and say I hardly ever used to use a serum in my skincare routine before using this one and I don’t know why. I think it was just because I was lazy and didn’t think my skin needed it but how wrong I was..
Pixi recommend 2-3 drops onto your skin but I found that a little much so one drop or one and a half is good for me as it’s quite a thick consistency and take a little longer to fully sink into the skin. The scent again is really fresh and subtle.
After reducing the amount of drops I was using the glow tonic serum really has become a staple in my routine and leaves my skin feeling super smooth and glowy.
pHenomenal Gel.
I’m forever looking for a good everyday moisturiser and the pHenomenal gel from Pixi has become my favourite recently, It helps to balance and stabilise the skins pH. It’s very lightweight on the skin and literally just melts on the skin and then leaves it so soft.
I didn’t find a scent with this one though but I didn’t mind that at all because of my sensitive skin I find it best not to use overly scented products. It did leave my skin a little tacky but I may be applying too much as it does recommend just a coin sized amount. I always go overboard with moisturisers..
I did find it really cooling on my skin though and I love that it’s lightweight and I think it’s perfect for an everyday moisturiser, I’ll just have to learn not to put so much on.
On-the-glow moisture stick.
This is something very different that I have never used or seen before but I think this is an absolute must product from Pixi Beauty. The on-the-glow moisture stick is basically a solid moisturiser.
It’s multi purpose so you can use it on your face, body, lips and even your hair.. I mean who would have thought a product would have so many uses? It’s formulated with a mix of vitamin D2 which protects and brightens as well as glycolic acid. To use all you have to do is twist from the bottom and glide onto your skin and it leaves it super soft and glowing.
It’s perfect for those days when your skin needs a little pick me up and it’s the perfect size for travelling to use whenever and wherever you need.
Using this collection has really gave my skin that glow for summer. Have you tried anything from the glow collection?
