all photo’s taken on canon ae-1.
Back in may, i shot my first ever roll of film which was an experience let’s say. I definitely underestimated how hard film is to learn and get to grips with, it’s not a hobby to get into if you want something easy. Soon, I’ll write a beginners guide for getting into film photography as i’ve watched quite a few YouTube video’s but haven’t seen many blog posts on the topic.
Around one month after shooting my first roll I took my film camera away with me to North Devon with a few rolls of kodak colourplus 200 which is actually now expired but I have found I prefer the colours when the date has ran over. As a beginner I’m still getting to grips with ISO but I wish I had brought a roll of 400 or 800 ISO so I could have taken some shots at night but overall, I was actually really pleased with how the photo’s came out. Again, I got them developed and scanned at Take it Easy Lab which i’ve found to be amazing at turnaround times and would 100% recommend.

these are such gorgeous film shots, making me want to get a roll of 35mm and finally use my great-uncle’s point and shoot!
