A cake that you can get delivered through your letterbox? bakerdays do just that. Mother’s Day is coming up at the end of this week and just in case you aren’t sorted yet I have a little idea of a letterbox cake from bakerdays for you!
I always struggle to think of what to get my mom every year for Mother’s Day, I don’t like getting the same things over and over which is why when bakerdays got in touch with me about getting a cake designed for my mom I couldn’t turn it down. I mean who doesn’t like CAKE?!
Flowers have always been the first choice for Mother’s Day gifts but over the years you can get a lot more delivered than just pretty flowers. Oh and imagine you don’t even need to open your door to receive a gift. The letterbox cake from bakerdays gets posted through your letterbox so you could wake up with a cake through your door.. How amazing would that be?!
Who are bakerdays?
bakerdays are a small business based in Nottinghamshire near Sherwood Forest & they can deliver all across the world. You can choose from cupcakes, a letterbox cake at 5”, Small at 7”, Medium at 9”and Large at 12”. All the cakes at bakerdays are handmade to order and they also offer a next day delivery service for those last minute cake orders. Oh but that’s not all, if you are a very organised person they accept orders up to 1 YEAR in advance of the delivery date. I mean I’ll never be that organised but it’s good to know.
I asked my mom what kind of recipe she would like and she chose chocolate chip (great choice mom) but I wanted the design and photo to be a surprise for when she opened it so I went for the ‘best mum’ design with a photo of her with a horse she loves riding. My mom is obsessed with horses and goes riding when she can so this photo was one I knew she would love. I really do love the ‘best mum’ design I think it really frames the photo and I don’t think I could have done a better job to be honest.
I was so worried the cake would be damaged as it was going to get dropped through the letterbox but the cake was packaged SO well. It came in the cutest tin with a little card which read ‘enjoy’ – such a lovely little touch! It comes with a little tab on top of the cake so you can just lift the tab and the cake comes out.
Once the cake was delivered I showed my mom the cake I got designed for her and she was super happy with the design and photo. I was worried the photo was going to blur but it was perfect. Once I saw the smile on her face I knew I’d chose the right photo and I was so happy she was pleased with the cake.
The cake tasted amazing, so moist and fluffy. The chocolate chip wasn’t over powering at all and went really nicely with the icing and the flavour was incredible. The letterbox cake was also the perfect size for us 3 to have a decent size piece of cake.
I definitely wouldn’t hesitate in getting a cake designed from bakerdays for future occasions. The customer service is amazing and delivery is fast, the cake looks exactly like it does on the website once it’s delivered. Now.. There’s still one little piece of cake left which I may now go eat but don’t tell anyone.. Are you all sorted for Mother’s Day this year?

Your photos are always stunning Samantha! I love bakerdays. I’ve worked with them a few times and also won a couple of their letterbox cakes, luckily. I can’t get enough! My favourite is the lemon sponge personally – I love anything with lemon in it! They make such great gifts! <3
