It’s been a while since I shared any film photos but I recently took a trip to South Wales and took my Canon AE-1, Olympus Trip 35 and a new half frame camera, the Kodak Ektar H35. Shooting the Kodak half frame camera was a completely different experience to shooting on my Canon for example. Knowing I had double the exposures it gave me more freedom to shoot whatever I wanted and I loved it. Unfortunately I haven’t finished the roll just quite yet but once I do I’ll update and share this post with some of the photo’s I took on it so you can see the comparison as the quality of the H35 will differ compared the Olympus Trip for example.
I took a collection of film to shoot with including Kodak Gold 200, Ilford HP5 (which is a black and white film) and Ultramaxx 400. I’d never shot B&W film before but loved how most of the photo’s came out, It totally changed the mood of the photos. South Wales was beautiful and the perfect place to shoot film. Most of my photo’s were shot in or around Tenby or Saundersfoot.

I really like the atmosphere and vibes these photos give off, they really seem to capture the life going on in South Wales (an area I am only slightly familiar with, but it seems to fit so well)!

Thank you so much, Lucy! x
There’s a beautiful aesthetic in and of the photos
Thank you!
Your film shots are amazing! Shooting with a half-frame camera really tests your patience, doesn’t it? I always feel like I’ve taken a lot, only to realize I have more shots left. The black and white photos give off such a unique, melancholic vibe. Anyway, hello! April here. ✨
Omg thank you so much, April! It really does. I loveeee that i have more shots than usual but when i’m getting to the end of the roll i normally just want to finish it and send it off for devolving, i’m so impatient haha. I think i’ll definitely be shooting more black and white in the future x
