A lot of products go viral on TikTok and most I just scroll past to be honest but when I saw a few video’s on the Trigwell powder puffs I was a little intrigued.
I’d never brought anything off TikTok shop before so I was a little skeptical, with social media how it is nowadays with filters that can be so subtle they can sometimes be undetectable I wasn’t sure but decided to just put an order in a try it for myself. I was surprised at how quick the shipping was and my order came the next day after placing it the morning before, for reference I paid £13.99 and had a voucher for free shipping.
Inside the pretty packaging you get two powder puffs and the first thing I noticed was how soft and cushiony they were, i’ve never had a powder puff so soft before so I was impressed.
The videos I saw on TikTok looked like the puff blurred the skin like magic, I obviously knew it wasn’t all down to the powder puff but how you prep your skin, the type of powder you use etc. was important.
I saw a lot of people using the Laura Mercier translucent powder which I’ve heard is a best seller and I am also desperate to try, although with it coming in at £30 I thought i’d try a cheaper alternative first and went for the Makeup Revolution loose baking powder which comes in at £5.99.
I applied my makeup like I normally would with primer and then a mix of a darker and lighter foundation mixed and then concealer. I normally get quite lots of creases under my dark circle eyes and pores around my nose.
I then used the powder puff to pick up some of the baking powder and dabbed on my hand to get the excess off before applying to my under eyes and the parts of my face which I thought needed it. I instantly knew this powder puff was a game changer and smoothed my under eyes so well but I didn’t have the results I saw on the viral TikTok videos although I knew I wouldn’t have the same results. We all have different skin and use different products.
Since using the powder puff i’ve definitely seen a difference on how the oily area’s of my skin stays oil free for longer with a noticeable smoother finish. The Trigwell velvet powder puff truly does an excellent job at picking up the powder and pressing it into your skin for a more poreless and smooth finish. For me, it’s a great makeup tool that i’ll use every single day and I would totally say it’s worth the hype although I wouldn’t say it’s a cheat code for airbrushed skin.

I haven’t been on TikTok in a while so I haven’t seen the Trigwell powder puff on there, but it does sound like a good makeup tool to use for loose powder! Also, I have oily skin so the powder puff seems like it would be beneficial for me!
